Two Ferns Psychotherapy

Are you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or disconnected from work, school, or even other people? Do you often prioritize others before yourself? Are you looking to better cope with some aspects of daily life or want to learn to better manage stress? Maybe you deal with symptoms of anxiety and/or depression? Let me support you as you navigate these concerns.

My previous experiences as a teacher and scientist have led me to believe we should always build people up, not tear them down.

I therefore use an evidence and strengths-based approach tailored to your needs and your lived experience that incorporates elements of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), mindfulness, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), polyvagal theory, experiential techniques, and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT).

I strive to create a safe space where you can truly be yourself and share your thoughts, feelings, worries, and hopes. Let’s build upon your strengths to increase your resilience and equip you with tools to better face life’s challenges.

I work with individuals 13+. Areas include stress, burnout, life transitions, symptoms of anxiety and/or depression, anger management, emotional regulation, bipolar disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder, and persistent post-concussion symptoms. I use a harm reduction and Hearing Voices lens where appropriate.

I completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University that consisted of coursework and a mandatory 8-month internship with weekly supervision. During this time, I accumulated > 200 hours of direct client contact (e.g., individual counselling). I am also a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and can practice the controlled act of psychotherapy.

I also have advanced (2nd and 3rd-cycle) degrees and expertise in neuroscience, biochemistry, pharmacology, and psychology.
